Tacos El Tio Information

If you're in the mood for authentic Mexican food in Chicago, Tacos El Tio is a must-visit spot that shouldn't be missed. Located at 3734 W Grand Ave, the small but vibrant restaurant delivers the kind of Mexican comfort food that's hard to find anywhere else in the city. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by the comforting aromas of freshly prepared tacos, sizzling meats, and spices that immediately tell you you’re in for a treat.

The menu at Tacos El Tio offers a variety of classic Mexican street food staples, but the real highlight is, of course, the tacos. Whether you're a fan of traditional carne asada, al pastor, or something a little more adventurous like lengua or tripas, each taco is packed with flavor. The tortillas are always fresh and soft, providing the perfect base for the juicy, seasoned fillings. And the toppings are the perfect finishing touch-cilantro, onions, and a squeeze of lime take each bite to the next level.

One thing that stands out here is the quality of the meat. It's clear they take pride in sourcing fresh, high-quality ingredients. The carne asada is grilled to perfection with just the right amount of char, and the al pastor, with its tender pork and sweet pineapple, strikes the perfect balance of savory and sweet. For those who love a little heat, the salsas are fiery but flavorful, adding a nice kick without overpowering the dish.

Aside from tacos, the menu also features a selection of other Mexican favorites like tortas, burritos, and quesadillas. Each item comes in generous portions, so you’re definitely getting your money’s worth. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite for lunch or enjoying a leisurely meal with friends, the friendly staff ensures that the experience is always top-notch. They’re happy to offer suggestions and make sure you’re satisfied with your meal.

The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a laid-back dining experience. The no-frills interior gives off a cozy, neighborhood diner vibe, and you’ll often find locals chatting with the owners and enjoying their meals at the counter. It’s the kind of place where everyone feels like family, and the authenticity of the food really shines through.

For anyone in the area looking for a satisfying meal that’s both flavorful and affordable, Tacos El Tio is the place to go. It’s one of those hidden gems that feels like a well-kept secret, but once you discover it, you'll definitely be coming back for more. So next time you're craving a tasty taco fix, head over to Tacos El Tio and prepare to be impressed.

In my opinion, Their tacos al pastor are the best in the Humboldt Park and Logan Square area. Their tacos al pastor comes with pineapple and also they serve you with an avocado salsa. On Tuesdays, they have a super deal TACO TUESDAYS SPECIAL, which is 5 tacos al pastor for only $10!!!!

Taco dinner al pastor, very good. Place was clean and quiet on a Thursday afternoon. Service was quick and pleasant

Nice place.. tasty food. Service was great, fast and courteous. I had a burrito dinner. It was delicious, rice was fresh not as some Peter places they just microwaved. Here it tasted good. Definitely I'll come back soon.

Don't go in the morning if you don't speak Spanish. They won't get your order right. It's unfortunate. I'm just glad it's only a preference and not an allergy. Don't have time to come back and get it remade before work. Delicious meats, love the lengua. Reasonable prices and the food came fast and fresh

The food was great and delicious I have only done food delivery haven’t been inside but the food is so great

Definitely a favorite! Food was great and the service was perfect!
